Dystopia is a world where mankind believed its prayers had been answered. Playing with fire, humanity harnessed a newly discovered extraterrestrial element that had struck the Earth by chance, only to learn that when human ingenuity reaches its peak, the consequences become unavoidable.

In 2055, mankind discovered Anima—a gaseous, self-replicating resource that impacted the Scottish Highlands. Of unknown origin, the Anima dispersed for miles, appearing harmless yet seemingly limitless in abundance.

Dystopia explores what happens when humanity embraced the opportunities this extraordinary energy provided. As mankind reshaped the world through Anima, Anima, in turn, reshaped the world. The Blackout of 2071 brought civilisation to the brink of extinction, causing catastrophic loss of life and destroying the technological foundation upon which humanity had become dependent.

The central narrative follows the lives of those struggling to survive within the Divided Wasteland in 2153. Their stories reflect the ideologies of its competing factions—from the Tainted, fighting for survival in a world that fears them; to the council of NuBorough, striving to rebuild civilisation; to the ambition, betrayal, and deception of the Carrows; and the relentless military dominance of the Authority of Man.
